Youth Sunday is June 10th >     As our year winds down in Children and Worship we will celebrate our young ones during Youth Sunday, June 10th. The children will participate in the service by sharing some extra special teachings of Jesus. We wish to thank all the parents for sharing their children with us each Sunday. A thousand thank yous to our leaders and teachers for charging our little ones each Sunday with our Lord's lessons. You are a beacon of light for each of them. It was a great year with all of your support, including the guidance of Pastor Dawn and Tori as our Christian Education Deacon. Have a wonderful safe fun summer and come back with friends in September.

Cooking & Creating for a Cause Summer Camp >     Registration is now in progress for Vacation Bible Camp. Registration forms are available from the church office by phoning 518-283-4420. Registration is open to all youth from the Wynantskill area. The camp is held at the church from 9:00 AM to Noon on weekdays. The dates for campers going into 2nd thru 4th grades are July 16th to 20th. Campers going into 5th thru 8th grades will meet on August 6th to 10th. The registration fee is $15. The major activities at camp are cooking and sewing. The items created by the campers are used as charitable donations. Campers will learn about Christian service by making food, pillows and other sewn items. They will also learn from bible lessons that will be shared.

Children & Worship >     All children ages 3 to 7 are invited to participate in our Children & Worship program when they are dismissed from worship in the sanctuary following Pastor's story for children. The children will hear God's Word, partake in a feast, are encouraged to present God's story for themselves, and before they leave they each receive a special blessing from the leader. We are hopeful that our children will experience the beauty of worshiping God, the One who loves them and cares for them today, tomorrow, and always.

Monthly Mid-week Bible Study >     Join us monthly on a Wednesday evening (as listed on the event calendar) as we use the book "Making Sense of Scripture" by David Lose to interact with with the Bible and one another. We know that reading the Bible is important for our faith and our relationship with God. But sometimes it can seem a bit daunting to know how to approach this challenging and sometimes difficult book. Join us each month as we explore how to read and understand the Bible better.

Damn Yankees >     We're planning a trip to see Damn Yankees at the Park Playhouse in Washington Park on Thursday, July 12th, with a rain date of July 13th. We plan to sit in the free areas and will try to reserve space earlier that afternoon. You can bring your own food and drinks to the show, so we hope to coordinate food to share. There will be a sign-up sheet available starting in June, so we have an idea of how many spaces we should reserve. See Anne Donnelly with questions.

Prayer Group >     Join us each week after Fellowship Hour as we pray together in the library. Prayers focus on different pre-scheduled concerns each week. Intercessory requests are also welcomed each week.

Free Community Dinners >     Wednesday Evening Free Pasta Community Dinners are served at 5:30 PM weekly during the acedemic year. The final dinner of the 2017-18 academic year was on May 23rd. Dinners will resume in September. Our community of friends look forward to coming to our dinners and remember ... you are also encouraged to come to eat and visit with our guests. Hope to see you there!

Men's Breakfast >     All men of the church, as well as their friends, and guests from the community are invited to our monthly breakfast and devotional gathering. We hope you will join us on the second Saturday of every month at 7:30 AM - we look forward to seeing you!

Thursday Morning Bible Study >     The "What Are You Afraid Of". study covers various fears people have and how to deal with them. We meet in the church parlor each Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. The final meeting for the 2017-18 academic year is June 14th. In the fall of 2018 we will start a new study series by David Jeremiah entitled: "A Life Beyond Amazing". Dr. Jeremiah Writes: "God has Given Us Wisdom for These Days. A Life Beyond Amazing answers the questions that keep us up at night and shows that the way forward is in knowing who we are in Christ and why living in that knowledge matters. We must train ourselves to be Godly. This book shows you how."

Camp Fowler >     The summer youth camp season at Fowler Camp & Retreat Center is fast approaching. If you haven't done so, now is the time to register your kids (please identify First Reformed Church of Wynantskill as the sponsoring church). Also, if you'd like to share in the Fowler Scholarship money from our Church, please contact the church office or Janice Dagner. Note: Participating in the camp and applying for scholarship assistance does not require a family to join the church.

Spirit and Service Sisters (SASS) >     is a women's fellowship and service group. Further information is available from Anne Donnelly or the church office.

Hospitality Committee >     The Hospitality Committee recently met to begin to plan how we can assist those in our congregation who may need help with meals in the case of illness or unexpected emergency, as well as provide transportation to appointments and worship when they can't drive themselves. Should you have any questions about the Hospitality Committee, please see Carol Winkley.

Funeral Luncheons >     The church is happy to provide a funeral luncheon for its members, family and friends at the time of their bereavement. To date the church has provided over 75 such luncheons. Please contact the church office at 283-4420 as the need arises.
