Music is one way we express our praise to God. At FRCW there are many opportunities to accompany the congregation in song. Music is an important way to lead worship and support the spoken word. In addition to our choirs, we have instrumentalists, when available. We are led by Jim Slingerland, our Minister of Music. Please contact Jim if you are interested in any of the below opportunities.
Senior Choir
We praise the Lord with anthems and hymns during our worship service. We are under the direction of Jim Slingerland, our Minister of Music, and are accompanied by our church's pipe organ or piano. Rehearsals are at 7 pm on Thursdays, September through June.
Men’s and Women’s Ensembles
On occasion these smaller groups offer special music during the worship service. These are great opportunities for those who love to sing, but can’t commit to weekly rehearsals.
Children's Choir
The focus is teaching children that song is a natural and fun activity that is used to praise God.
Bell Choir
We are blessed with beautiful hand bells that were donated by church members. Hand bells are amazing for a few reasons. They make beautiful music and add so much to our worship service. Plus, if you have never played an instrument and don't read a single note, you can still play hand bells. We like to have the bells ring as least twice a year, during Advent and Lent.
